Paulette Flamond
Paulette Flamond is Red River Metis originally from Saskatchewan. The Peace Region in Northeast British Columbia has been her home for the past 35 years.
Paulette’s love of traditional plants came early in life when she would help her late grandfather Jean LaRose pick sage and make a medicinal tea from it. Paulette has fond memories of these walks through the Prairie fields and her grandfather called her his “little Bluejay”.
Boreal Gardens grew out of her passion to grow non-GMO foods and to work with 5 acres to plant a food forest near Charlie Lake, BC. Collecting medicinal plants in the Boreal Forest has become one of her passions along with creating value added products.
A compassionate servant leader Paulette has spent the past 35 years serving the Province of BC and is currently an elected leader with the Metis Nation British Columbia.
